The William David Vaughn scholarship provides two scholarships of $1,500 to two students from Southern Alamance High School (1 athlete and 1 non-athlete).

Meridian Waste’s Shotwell Environmental Park Annual Charity Pumpkin Patch Attracts More than 400 Neighbors at Recent Event

Guests enjoyed pumpkin painting, inflatable slides, obstacle courses, face painting, and a free BBQ lunch. The main attraction was the pumpkin patch where guests picked a pumpkin and made a charitable donation which Meridian Waste generously matched. This year’s donation recipients are East Wake Education Foundation and Good Hope Baptist Church.

Meridian Waste launched its second residential collection contract today for the City of Jacksonville, FL, representing the first time the City has granted two residential contracts to one single hauler since consolidation.

Touch-A-Truck Event Awes Young Students

ECO Waste (a Meridian Waste Company) drivers Brantley “BJ” Thompson and William Gantt, Sr. along with General Manager John Prochak became BIG STARS today as they hosted a Touch-A-Truck event among 20+ young students at Great Adventures Learning Academy in Easley, SC.

Jacksonville Hiring Event A Success on the Westside

Meridian Waste held a team member hiring event at its hauling operations facility located at 2078 Lane Avenue North in Jacksonville, FL on Saturday, August 26 with 122 candidates for commercial driver's license (CDL) drivers, helpers, mechanics, and dispatch positions.

Meridian Waste celebrated its third annual Summer Splash Bash at its Shotwell Environmental Park on Saturday, August 19 with 617 guests from the surrounding areas of Wake and Johnston Counties. 

Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Made of Recycled Steel

Images of the torch that will carry the Olympic fire at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Games next summer have been finally revealed. The redesigned torch features a sleek silver-colored cylinder that is made of recycled steel in an effort to reduce the carbon footprint of the 2,000 torches that will be produced for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
