Meridian Waste Virginia, LLC today announced the acquisition of Waste Knot, LLC, effective April 1, 2026. The transaction strengthens Meridian Waste’s footprint in the greater Richmond, Virginia market and reinforces its disciplined growth strategy through strategic tuck-in acquisitions.
The addition of Waste Knot expands the Company’s residential and commercial collection platform, increasing route density and driving incremental volume to Meridian Waste’s vertically integrated assets, including its Tri-City Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and Lunenburg Municipal Solid Waste Landfill. This enhanced asset utilization is expected to support improved operating efficiencies, margin expansion, and long-term cash flow growth.
Waste Knot’s operations will be seamlessly integrated into Meridian Waste’s existing Petersburg hauling facility. Customers will continue to receive uninterrupted service under existing agreements, while benefiting from Meridian Waste’s expanded resources, safety standards, and service capabilities.
“This acquisition reflects our continued focus on building density in existing markets while maximizing the value of our vertically integrated infrastructure,” said Walter “Wally” Hall, Chief Executive Officer of Meridian Waste. “Waste Knot is a highly strategic fit that enhances our scale in the Richmond region, improves route efficiency, and increases internalization to our disposal and recycling assets. We remain actively engaged in identifying similar acquisition opportunities that align with our growth and value creation strategy.”
This transaction marks Meridian Waste’s 37th acquisition since partnering with Warren Equity Partners in April 2018, underscoring the Company’s consistent execution of its acquisition-driven expansion model.
