The following services, guidelines, and resource links are available specifically for the residents of the City of Wentzville.

Set Out Time: Place carts and trash bags curbside the night before or no later than 6:00 AM on your collection day.
Garbage Pickup
95-gallon Meridian Waste cart and up to three (3) customer-provided trash bags. NO PRIVATE CONTAINERS (including cardboard boxes) will be serviced/collected.
One (1) full cart (no overflow; lid must fully shut) of securely-bagged trash and up to three (3) additional bags placed next to the cart.
Picked up once weekly. (Option of twice per week for additional fee.) Place carts curbside the night before or no later than 6:00 AM on your collection day.
Non-hazardous municipal solid waste. NO tires, yard waste, or construction materials permitted.
Carts CANNOT exceed 60 lb. each. Individual trash bags CANNOT exceed 40 lb.
All materials must be INSIDE the cart; Please bag waste before placing it in the cart. The three (3) additional bags of trash should be placed neatly beside the carts. After the first 3 bags, there is an additional charge per bag.
Large Items and White Goods/Appliances
Three (3) items collected at no additional charge per quarter, to be picked up on your regular service day
Collection of ALL large items and white goods/appliances MUST be scheduled in advance with the City of Wentzville. For more information and to schedule a pick-up, call the City of Wentzville at (636) 327-5101.
Sofas, mattresses, box springs, couches, other miscellaneous furniture, stoves, washers, dryers, freezers, refrigerators, dish washers, etc.

Recycling Pickup
65-gallon Meridian Waste cart.
One (1) single-stream recycling cart.
Picked up once weekly.

Plastics labeled #s 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7; aluminum, tin, and steel cans; corrugated cardboard (flattened); and mixed paper.

Glass, plastic bags, plastic films, and construction materials are NOT acceptable in recycling.

Glass, plastic bags, and plastic films (such as cling wrap and plastic seals and sheets in packaging) are NOT ACCEPTED in the curbside recycling program.
Yard Waste Pickup
95 or 65-gallon hauler provided cart or customer provided cart (See Collection Guidelines in Helpful Links section below for specifications).
One (1) cart's contents (lid must shut), and a combined total of fourteen (14) lawn/leaf bags or yard waste bundles. Each additional bag/bundle. is an additional charge.
Picked up once weekly.
Leaves, grass, limbs, and branches (securely bundled with twine) LESS THAN six (6) inches in diameter and LESS THAN five (5) feet in length. Bundles should be less than 18 inches in diameter and MUST NOT weigh more than 50 lb.
Cart or bag 50 lbs. limit.

You may either rent an extra cart from the City or purchase your own 95 or 65-gallon cart for yard waste. If you purchase your own, it MUST match these dimensions and specifications to ensure the safety of the service providers —NO DEVIATIONS will be allowed. 

Cart Requirements

Cart MUST BE Either:  

  • 95 gallon capacity and dimensions of 28.25 in. (W), x 44. 5 in. (H), x 34 in. (D) 
  • 65 gallon capacity and dimensions of 24.25 in. (W), x 41.75 in. (H), x 31.75 in. (D)

Cart MUST HAVE: 

  • Tight-closing hinged lid 
  • Upper cart grab lip 
  • Lower cart grab bar 
  • Push/pull grab handle 
  • Two-wheeled solid axle 
TWO COLLECTION OPTIONS: Standard 10–month Minimum Charge Program OR Collection By Appointment. See the Collection Guidelines in the Help Links section below for specifications on programs and customer-provided carts.

Mixing garbage with recycling is costly for everyone. When in doubt, just throw it out (in the garbage, that is).

How to Place Carts Curbside

Close cart lid, point handle away from street, place on edge of street. Keep cart 3 feet away from all objects.
