Meridian Waste North Carolina, LLC announced the asset acquisition of Foothills Waste Solutions, LLC (Foothills Waste) effective January 1, 2025.  The acquisition expands Meridian Waste’s operational footprint within the Research Triangle Region, adding commercial frontload, permanent and temporary roll off and residential hauling routes to the company’s North Carolina portfolio.  Additionally, Meridian Waste will assume Foothill Waste’s existing hauling facility located at 5307 NC Highway 704 East, Sandy Ridge, NC 27046, where the company will house the administrative and maintenance functions servicing these newly acquired customers and accounts.

The acquisition expands Meridian Waste collection footprint for all lines of business to include Forsyth, Guilford, Rockingham, Stokes, and Surry Counties.  Additionally, the Towns of King, Mayodan, Bethania, Danbury, Walnut Cove and the Village of Tobaccoville’s exclusive residential contracts are now being serviced by Meridian Waste.  Customers should experience no disruption in service and existing contact information remains valid with additional website communication options now available at www.MeridianWaste.com/SandyRidgeNC.

Foothills Waste’s former owners, Justin and Jeffrey Shelton, will remain with Meridian Waste managing the hauling operations of the Sandy Ridge location ensuring a smooth transition for Meridian Waste’s new commercial and residential customers.  Additional Foothills Waste team members ranging from office staff to drivers, mechanics and operational support staff have also transitioned to Meridian Waste.

“We have found North Carolina to be an incredibly strong region for Meridian Waste,” stated Walter “Wally” Hall, CEO of the company.  “The opportunities our team has been able to uncover, purchase, site, improve upon and/or expand has created an advantageous competitive position for Meridian Waste which ultimately benefits our customers by ensuring a fully integrated solid waste management program where we can manage our customers’ environmental services from beginning to end focusing on safe, responsible and quality customer service operations.”

This will be Meridian Waste’s thirty-third acquisition since the company transitioned to private stock under the ownership of Warren Equity Partners (WEP) in April 2018.
