Making Lunenburg County Cleaner and Greener Through Tire Recycling
Meridian Waste's Lunenburg Landfill and Lunenburg County co-sponsored a tire recycling event to allow residents to clean up their personal property and dispose of unused passenger tires. Residents were allowed up to four passenger tires per household. Meridian Waste and the County covered the costs of labor, transportation, and the costs to recycle all of the tires collected as a benefit to residents of Lunenburg County. During this first tire-recycling event, approximately 100 tires were collected.
The event was held on November 12, 2022.
