Meridian Waste Host Its Earth Day Easter Egg Hunt April 19th

Free Family-Friendly Event at Shotwell Environmental Park

Raleigh, NC (March 24, 2025) – Meridian Waste North Carolina LLC, a provider of non-hazardous solid waste services, is excited to announce the return of its Earth Day Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19th at Shotwell Environmental Park.

This free, family-friendly event will be held from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 4624 Smithfield Rd., Wendell, NC, with the egg hunts starting at 11:45 AM. Neighbors, local schools, nonprofits, and civic organizations are all invited to join in the fun and explore the company’s environmental facility.

Event Highlights:

  • Three egg hunts for kids ages 2-4, 5-7, and 8-10
  • Free lunch for all attendees (RSVP by April 14th at 10:00 AM EDT)
  • Touch-A-Truck display featuring trucks and heavy machinery used in environmental services
  • Inflatable bounce house and obstacle course
  • Petting zoo
  • Egg painting station
  • Hayride landfill tours
  • Reusable Earth Day swag bags for kids

The Earth Day Easter Egg Hunts will feature special hand-painted eggs resembling the Earth. Hunters who find these unique eggs can trade them for a special surprise—one prize per Earth egg.

"The Easter Egg Hunt has always been a favorite, and we expect strong community participation again this year.
