 MERIDIAN WASTE CELEBRATES EARTH DAY AND THE EASTER SEASON ON APRIL 1
Meridian Waste is opening its gates to the community sharing breakfast, eco-friendly activities, and Easter egg hunts at free event 


WHO:
 Meridian Waste North Carolina LLC, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, celebrates the spring holidays combining Earth Day and the Easter season with family-friendly activities for all ages on Saturday, April 1. 

WHAT/WHY:  Meridian Waste North Carolina is welcoming springtime at the Shotwell Environmental Park by inviting neighbors, local schools, non-profits, and civic organizations to the company’s environmental facility while sharing appreciation with the surrounding community.

“Shotwell Environmental Park enjoys hosting the community at many public events. We welcome our guests to visit and learn about the vital work performed by our facility while having a fun time and enjoying spring weather,” said Josh Daher, Meridian Waste’s North Carolina Area President.

Activities will include Meridian Waste’s signature Touch-A-Truck display, where attendees can touch the trucks and heavy machinery used in the environmental services industry. Other activities will include:

  • Free breakfast for all attendees
  • Egg hunts for children from ages two to four, five to seven, and eight to ten
  • Inflatable bounce house and obstacle course
  • Face painting
  • Egg painting
  • Reusable Earth Day swag bags for the children 

Hidden throughout the hunt areas will be eggs painted like the Earth. Those who find the hand-painted eggs will trade their egg for a special surprise. One prize per Earth egg will be awarded to spread the most joy among the participants.
