‘Summer Splash Bash’

 

WHO  Meridian Waste North Carolina LLC,  an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, is throwing a Summer Splash Bash at its Shotwell Landfill to celebrate summer and the start of the new school season with family-friendly activities for all ages.  

WHAT/WHY  Meridian Waste North Carolina is throwing a Summer Splash Bash at the Shotwell Landfill to invite neighbors, local schools, non-profits, and civic organizations to the environmental facility, and to show our appreciation for the surrounding community. 

“Why throw a summer family celebration at a landfill? Why not?,” said Meridian Waste North Carolina Area President Josh Daher. “We have clean and green space, care for the families and organizations in our community, and we love to have fun, so we’re opening up the grounds for the Summer Splash Bash to allow our neighbors the opportunity to explore and enjoy our environmental facility.”

Activities will include Meridian Waste’s Touch-A-Truck display, where attendees can get up close and touch the trucks and heavy machinery used in the environmental services industry. Other family-friendly, fun activities will include:

• A two-lane waterslide for children and adults.

• A dunk tank to soak your friends and family.

• Inflatable bounce house and obstacle course, and

• Field day events with balloon tosses, potato sack races, and watermelon seed spitting contests

Compliments of Meridian Waste, food trucks will be on-site to provide free hot dogs and frozen treats for attendees.
