Weather Alert: Secure Your Trash Carts Ahead of Severe Weather

Dear Meridian Waste Customer,

With severe weather expected to impact Alabama this weekend, Meridian Waste is asking all residential customers to take precautions to secure their trash carts.

By this afternoon, please bring your trash carts away from the roadside and into a secure location, whether they are full or empty. Heavy rain and strong winds may cause unsecured carts to blow into roadways, creating safety hazards and potential property damage.

Note: Meridian Waste will be running Friday, Oct. 9, routes as scheduled.

We are also monitoring conditions that may impact trash collection on Monday. Depending on storm conditions, routes may experience delayed start times or service interruptions due to downed trees, power lines, flooding, or washed-out roads.

The safety of our customers, employees, and communities remains our top priority. We will provide updates as conditions develop and any service impacts are confirmed.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Explosion Danger!

Lithium-ion batteries (the kind in cell phones, laptops, tablets) easily catch fire or explode when crushed, even if they're “dead”!

NEVER put them in the Garbage OR Recycling.

Instead, find a safe, authorized drop-off center near you using the Battery Network Locator.
