Meridian Waste, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, continued its annual tradition of giving back with its Gifting of the Turkeys program, delivering more than 150 Thanksgiving turkeys to households located near the company’s disposal facilities. The annual program recognizes residents who live near the company’s municipal solid waste and construction and demolition debris landfills to expresses gratitude for their support and understanding of the industrial nature of these disposal facilities.
Meridian Waste North Carolina’s Second Annual A-MAZE-ing Pumpkin Patch was a huge success, drawing over 700 guests for a day filled with family fun, festive activities, and community spirit. The event raised more than $1,600 for The Invictus Program, supporting efforts to protect children and pursue justice. Guests can look forward to even more pumpkin-themed fun at next year’s Third Annual A-MAZE-ing Pumpkin Patch on October 24, 2026.

Meridian Waste brought spooky fun and community spirit to Wentzville’s Trunk or Treat on October 16, 2025, with a sanitation-themed setup and a surprise appearance from Oscar the Grouch, delighting families across the region. Decked out in Sesame Street décor and team pride, the event showcased Meridian Waste’s commitment to service, smiles — and a little grouchy fun!
Meridian Waste Missouri hosted its annual Fall Harvest Family Fun Fest on October 4, 2025, at the Eagle Ridge Landfill in Bowling Green, welcoming more than 650 guests—its largest turnout yet. The free community event featured family activities, landfill tours, and educational opportunities about modern waste management. Director Barbie Russo emphasized the importance of engaging the community to highlight how well-managed landfills protect public health and the environment.
In a vibrant display of community spirit, volunteers came together to support the Central Chargers Volleyball team by selling candy donated by Meridian Waste to raise funds for new uniforms. Leading the charge were Jessica Abernathy and a fellow community member, whose passion and teamwork turned sweet treats into meaningful contributions. The fundraiser not only generated vital resources for the team but also highlighted the powerful impact of local businesses and residents uniting for a common cause. This heartwarming event showcased the strength of community collaboration and the pride shared in helping young athletes succeed—both on and off the court.
At the Southeast Lauderdale Elementary community event on September 25, 2025, Meridian Waste engaged students with its interactive “Trash Cart Little Pitch,” teaching kids about waste management through hands-on activities like recycling games and trash cart demonstrations. Site Manager Craig Boswell highlighted the essential role of sanitation workers, making the experience both educational and fun while promoting community awareness and appreciation for vital public services.
Meridian Waste participated in the SWANA Region 6 Conference in Chattanooga, where they engaged with industry leaders, local officials, and community members to share their innovative waste management solutions and sustainability initiatives. The event provided a valuable platform for the company to expand its network and emphasize its commitment to environmental responsibility. Meridian Waste remains dedicated to advancing waste management practices and fostering a cleaner, greener future for the communities it serves.
