Meridian Waste Welcomes Over 700+ Neighbors & Guests at Second Annual A-MAZE-ing Pumpkin Patch
LIBERTY, N.C. – Meridian Waste North Carolina, LLC, a subsidiary of Meridian Waste, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, celebrated the success of its Second Annual A-MAZE-ing Pumpkin Patch held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Tri-Corners Landfill, located at 5833 Foster Store Road in Liberty, N.C. The free, family-friendly fall festival welcomed more than 700 guests from the local community to enjoy a full day of fun, food, and festivities celebrating “all things pumpkin.”
Guests of all ages took part in a variety of pumpkin-themed activities, including the charity pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, pumpkin ring toss, and pumpkin tic-tac-toe. The excitement didn’t stop there—families also enjoyed a corn maze, inflatable slide, corn hole, and the always-popular hayride landfill tours.
Adding a unique twist to traditional fall fun, Meridian Waste once again hosted “Truck-or-Treating”, a creative spin on trick-or-treating that showcased the company’s collection trucks and those of local vendors. Children dressed in costumes visited each truck for candy and treats provided by the company’s many generous vendor and community partners who helped make the event a success.
As a good host, Meridian Waste made sure no guest went hungry, offering a complimentary lunch featuring freshly fried chicken fingers, chips, and beverages for everyone attending. The company’s team members and volunteers served meals throughout the afternoon, ensuring a warm welcome and full stomachs for all.
The charity pumpkin patch raised more than $1,600 through guest donations to “pick” a pumpkin, matched by Meridian Waste. Proceeds benefited The Invictus Program: Protecting Childhood, Pursuing Justice, the event’s selected charity for both 2024 and 2025. The Invictus Task Force is a specialized multi-agency coalition uniting the Randolph, Alamance, Davidson, and Forsyth County Sheriff’s Offices with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI). This collaboration enables coordinated efforts across jurisdictional boundaries where predators often operate. Invictus—Latin for “unconquered”—symbolizes the task force’s steadfast commitment to defending childhood and pursuing justice for victims of exploitation.
“At Meridian Waste, we believe in opening our gates and inviting our neighbors to see firsthand how our disposal facilities are vital infrastructure assets that protect public health and the environment,” said Patrick Messinger, Area President – North Carolina, Meridian Waste. “It was wonderful to see such an enthusiastic turnout this year. The demand for our hayride landfill tours was so strong we began them early and kept them running throughout the event to give as many guests as possible a behind-the-scenes look at how Meridian Waste invests in the construction and management of our landfills to be good environmental stewards and great community neighbors.”
Meridian Waste extends its heartfelt thanks to all volunteers, vendor partners, and community members who participated and supported the event.
