Meridian Waste’s “Brightening the World” Earth Day Coloring Contest Is a Great Success!

On March 1, 2023, Meridian Waste launched an exciting “Brightening the World” Earth Day Coloring Contest for children in two age groups: 5-7 years and 8-10 years. Our young participants were given artwork templates inspired by Meridian Waste’s commitment to clean communities, conveying to the young artists that by keeping the environment clean and green through proper waste management, they too can do their part for the planet. All children throughout the United States were eligible to participate.

The Meridian Waste team was absolutely thrilled with the number of artwork submissions, and the effort and creativity shown by all the children. The 5–7-year-old group submitted seventy-three entries, and we collected fifty-eight entries from children from 8-10 year old group. We put a Meridian Waste selection committee together at our corporate office in Charlotte, and the committee collaboratively chose the top ten entries in each category. Selecting the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners was an extremely tough decision for our judges, the Meridian Waste corporate leadership team.

The first-place winners were awarded a personalized garbage truck with the Meridian Waste logo. All winners received a customized t-shirt with their personal artwork displayed on the front. In addition, all winners received rosette ribbons.

The Earth Day coloring contest reinforced Meridian Waste’s commitment to support the simple joys of coloring while utilizing green efforts as the subject matter of the coloring sheets.
