The following services, guidelines, and resource links are available specifically for the residents of the City of Troy.
Plastics (label #s 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7); aluminum and steel cans; mixed paper (newspaper, magazines, junk mail, office paper, etc.); tissue boxes, cereal boxes, and other clean fiberboard items; and corrugated cardboard (flattened).
Lithium-ion batteries (the kind in cell phones, laptops, tablets) easily catch fire or explode when crushed, even if they're “dead”!
NEVER put them in the Garbage OR Recycling.
Tips to Take and Common Mistakes to Avoid
Help us recycle right by only throwing these items into your recycling cart or bin. Mixing garbage with recycling is costly for everyone. When in doubt, just throw it out (in the garbage, that is).Local government recycling collection guidelines vary. Confirm before recycling.
