Carts

With the upcoming enhancements to waste services, each resident will receive new color-coded 95-gallon blue trash and green recycle cart(s) equivalent to the number of carts that are currently on your account with the City of Wentzville. The old carts will be removed.

Beginning in May 2026, bags outside of the trash cart will no longer be accepted unless scheduled and paid in advance. If you regularly utilize bags outside of the cart, we recommend ordering an additional cart as cost savings.

One blue trash cart and one green recycle cart are included in the base rate.

Trash Cart

If you need to order an Additional blue Trash Cart(s) over and above what you currently have on your account: Additional blue trash cart(s) including weekly service are available to rent for $5.00 per month for each additional trash cart.

Recycle Cart

Yard Waste 10-Month Minimum Charge Program

Residents may enroll in the 10-month Yard Waste Program, which runs from March through December. The program offers two options and includes weekly pickup on your regular trash collection day:

Bag/Bundle Option – $10.42 per month: Residents may set out up to 15 lawn and leaf bags or bundles per week. Any bags or bundles over the 15-item limit will be billed individually.
Bag/Bundle with Cart Option – $13.42 per month: Residents may set out up to 15 lawn and leaf bags or bundles per week along with the Meridian provided yard waste cart. Any bags or bundles over the 15-item limit will be billed individually.

Residents who are already enrolled in the weekly yard waste program will remain enrolled.

Note: Only the contents within the Meridian provided trash, recycle, and yard waste carts will be collected; no additional trash and/or bags left outside the cart will be collected unless prepaid and scheduled in advance. Yard waste bags/bundle in excess of 15 will be collected and billed at a per bag/bundle rate. No overflowing carts — cart lids must be fully closed to be serviced.
