WHO: Meridian Waste is opening its Noble Hill Landfill gates to the community sharing a FREE BBQ lunch, eco-friendly activities, and hayride landfill tours.
Meridian Waste is asking the residents of Etowah County community to celebrate Earth Day with family-friendly activities for all ages on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 9am – 1pm CDT.
WHAT/WHY: Meridian Waste and its Noble Hill Landfill are welcoming springtime at the Landfill by inviting neighbors, local schools, non-profits, and civic organizations to the company’s disposal facility while sharing appreciation with the surrounding community.
“Noble Hill Landfill is excited to host the community at our first public event. We welcome our guests to celebrate Earth Day with us and learn about the vital work performed at our landfill. With delicious food and fun activities planned, it is going to be a great time for all ages,” said Charlie Robertson, Meridian Waste’s Alabama Area President.
Activities will include Meridian Waste’s signature Touch-A-Truck display, where attendees can touch the trucks and heavy machinery used in the environmental services industry. Other activities will include:
- Free BBQ lunch for all attendees
- Earth Day-themed crafts and activities
- Inflatable slide and obstacle course
- Face painting
- Pony Rides
- Reusable Earth Day swag bags for the children
