Meridian Waste Reopens Huntsville C&D Transfer Station

Remodeled Facility Improves Traffic Flow, Operational Efficiencies & Safety

 

Huntsville, AL: June 21, 2025 – Meridian Waste Alabama, LLC, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, is pleased to announce the reopening of its Huntsville Construction & Demolition Debris (C&D) transfer station located at 4583 Pryor Road, Madison, AL 35756 on Monday, June 23 at 7am CDT.

The facility was temporarily closed following significant fire damage in November 2024. Since then, it has been fully rebuilt and reconfigured to provide a safer and more efficient operational environment for commercial haulers and contractors.

“Reopening the Huntsville Transfer Station reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible waste management services,” said Charlie Robertson, Meridian Waste’s Area President.  “The enhancements made to the facility directly address traffic safety, operational flow, and customer service.”

Key improvements include:

  • Reconfigured traffic flow for safer, more efficient vehicle movement on site
  • Improved entry and exit patterns to reduce congestion
  • Enhanced safety measures for workers and customers

Operating Hours:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CDT
Closed Saturdays and Sundays

Accepted Materials:
The facility exclusively accepts Construction and Demolition Debris (C&D) waste. This includes materials generated during the construction, renovation, and demolition of buildings, roads, and other structures. Typical C&D materials accepted include:

  • Concrete and brick
  • Untreated wood
  • Metals
  • Asphalt (paving materials)
  • Plaster and drywall
  • Plumbing fixtures
  • Roofing materials
  • Non-asbestos insulation

Prohibited Waste:

  • Household waste
  • Hazardous waste
  • Yard waste
