Meridian Waste is pleased to be selected as Carroll County’s exclusive environmental services provider. It is our goal to make taking out the trash just a little bit easier.

Register for Weekly Collection
Meridian Waste will assume collection services once you register with us and (if you are a current customer of GFL) once your pre-paid service period ends with your current provider. This will be a phased transition over July, August & September due to existing payments made by a portion of garbage subscribers to GFL.
Timeline
July - August - September: Transition GFL residential subscription customers upon expiration of pre-paid garbage service to Meridian Waste provided service.
October: Residents who previously did not register for paid subscription service, will be allowed to register for residential subscription service via defined zip code zones starting October. The zip code zones are designed to allow for a smooth, streamlined transition between October - December 2026. More information, including the roll out of the zip code zones and registration timeframes, will be forthcoming.
NOTE: No resident with an outstanding Carroll County real estate tax payment balance is eligible for weekly subscription garbage service.

Carroll County, VA Residential Garbage Guidelines
- Household garbage collection once a week utilizing a 95-gallon cart on wheels.
- All waste must be BAGGED and placed within the cart for collections.
- Garbage/waste placed outside the cart will not be collected.
- Set Out Time: No later than 6:00am on collection day and no earlier than 5:00pm the day prior.
- Extra carts may be requested for an additional fee. Please call (276) 294-2220 for more information.
- Side door or backdoor service is available for no extra fee to disabled customers who have no able-bodied residents in the home and who have a certificate from the County of his or her disability.
Only residents living within unincorporated Carroll County, Virginia are authorized to register via this link. The solid waste rates and services are governed by the contract between Carroll County and Meridian Waste.
